Hello Friends,
I hope you are all doing well! I am doing well and have been watching the newest out on dvd horror movies that I can...and I will be giving reviews on them one of them VHS, makes me stomach sick cause of the camera angles and all the shaky shaky (think Blair Witch Project style) so that one might take some time to get out, but I have seen Sinister... and I will write up a review for it later. Today we are going to talk about Rob Zombie's HALLOWEEN! Cue the Theme Music....
So why do I bring this up you ask? I bring up this film because right now it is getting nothing but scrutiny in the press. No friends, it's not getting scrutiny because some people saw it and thought it sucked and gave a shitty review...it is getting scrutiny because there is a teenager by the name of Jake Evans from Texas that watched this film and watched it three times a week to be exact and was inspired to kill his mother and his sister. The boy said, "While watching it, I was amazed at how ease the boy was during the murders and how little remorse he had afterword [sic]. I was thinking to myself it would be the same for me when I kill someone." (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/01/25/jake-evans-confession_n_2552173.html)

I am bringing this up to you all today because this is absolutely disgusting and awful. To kill your own family because you were "inspired" by Michael Myers is a step too far. I am not trying to be mean or hurtful but it is true. This poor teenager took something that was made for film and for people that love horror to see something new and made it his "inspiration." No horror movie director or writer has ever come out and said, "OH GEE, I hope that when people see this they'll kill a bunch of people and we can make money off them that way..." That's not how it works, many films including horror is strictly for entertainment value or to get the audience to realize that our world isn't this perfect little place that there are people like this that are out there. It's not always the case but sometimes, once in a blue moon it is. I guess what I'm trying to get to is the fact, that this teenager was disturbed prior to watching Halloween and getting his "inspiration". He is simply putting the blame onto Zombie's film because it's an easy escape out, that or he was on his last strand and that was something that went click. But, more than likely he was already disturbed and nobody knew anything about it, and he finally snapped. It's awful and saddening to see two lives were taken away because this teenage boy thought basically it would be cool. My other point is that many in our society and have been doing this for years and years is blaming the mass media. Granted if it wasn't for the mass media we wouldn't have all the things that we have today and I wouldn't be sitting here typing this up and none of you would be reading it. But we have it, too many people blame the media for actions or crimes that they have committed when what they need to do is step up to the plate and take blame onto themselves for the actions that have committed. It's almost like how the press blamed Marilyn Manson, the goths and all this marketing crap on what happened at Columbine. Oh I went there! It's not their fault, it's the parents, it's the school, it's the teachers, it's peers, those types of things not the media's fault. If your child or teenager is showing signs of depression or is constantly being picked on and getting beaten up for it, then YOU AS A PARENT need to do something about it. If the school chooses not to do anything, than you need to take your child out of school and find something for them that is going to work or you need to talk the parents of the child that is bullying yours. This is not rocket science and it's not like how it use to be. Where if your kid picked on so and so's kid you have them duel it out or whatever. It's no longer like that, the kid's that aren't the popular ones or don't have money really don't have a place to go and feel like they don't have someone to talk to. And it goes the same way for the ones that do have the money because their starting to come into the news more and more. As a society you would think that instead of being so damn concerned about our finances, and our status in society and if we have this to match The Smith's family look we would be concerned about our kid's and if they're okay. You would think as a society we would be concerned and want them to grow up better than we did and maybe not have to deal with what we had to deal with so much. But that's not the case, we only seem to care about material value and it's bullshit. Flat out bullshit. So in conclusion dear friends....do I feel bad for this poor kid? Yes I do, because this could've been dealt with and it wasn't and now there are two lost souls because of it. And again the mass media and the production to go with it is blamed. Something in our society needs to wake up and change...this world is starting to get ridiculous.
On that note dear friends...I hope that you guys can understand where I am coming from and what I am trying to say as a point...if you don't I am sorry. I will be more than glad to answer any questions. But our society does need to change maybe this can be a wake up call...
